At USC, I’ve been very lucky to be involved in a variety of organizations outside of the classroom. First, I’m a tour guide for the USC Admission Center, which means that I speak to prospective students and their families about USC while I show them around campus. I’m also in a Panhellenic Sorority and involved in a club called Engineers Without Borders. Just recently, I have joined a research project in the Viterbi School of Engineering at the Biomedical Microsystems Laboratory. Finally, I am a Latino Alumni Association scholar and am involved in the Center for Engineering Diversity. In the past, I have been ivolved in Joint Educational Project as a tutor for 3rd grade students in math and reading fluency at Vermont Elementary School.
The most common question I get as a student is why I chose USC. Since birth, I always knew how amazing the school was because my parents attended USC as well as many other members of my family. However, it wasn’t until I took my first official tour and stepped on campus that I really felt at home. At other universities, I never met students who loved their school as much as USC students did. I was sure that at USC I would be able to have an outstanding education while also having an amazing overall college experience. At USC, there are opportunities for everyone and that is truly why I love it here!
