Common App Is Live!

Guess what? The USC application is now available! As many of you know, USC uses the Common App exclusively and it went live yesterday. However, do not feel pressured to submit your application right away. Take time to craft an application that will best articulate your whole self. There is no admission advantage to submitting an application early; just be sure to meet the appropriate deadlines. Remember, you must apply by December 1st to be considered for USC Merit Scholarships. The final deadline to submit your application (unless you are applying towards a talent major) is January 15th; if you wait until this date to apply, you will not be considered for any merit-based scholarships but will still be considered for regular admission. As always, if you have any further questions, you may contact the general admission line at (213) 740-1111 or find your USC Admission Counselor.

  1. Mimi Chen says:

Ah! It’s crunch time 🙂 For scholarship notification in late January, does everyone get notified or just those who are awarded?

    • Jomar Gomez says:

All students who applied by the Dec 1st deadline will receive either an invitation to interview for a scholarship or a notification that he/she is not being awarded a scholarship, but is still being considered for regular admission.

  2. Syed Daniyal Ali says:

Does this mean that if I apply later than Dec 1st, I will not be considered for even a single scholarship? Even though I’m NEED of financial aid to study in USC?

    • Jomar Gomez says:

You must apply by the Dec 1st deadline to be considered for USC Merit-Based Scholarships. However, the deadline to apply for need-based financial aid is not until February 1st. Please understand that international students do not qualify for need-based financial aid. You also have the option of looking into private scholarships, which may have different requirements.
