Admitted Student Events

Over the last few months, our office reviewed many applications, and now it is time for our admitted students to decide whether or not USC is the place for you. In the coming weeks, we have many events to help students learn more about what it is like to be a student at USC. We’ve created a little breakdown about what each event entails, so that you can determine which is the best for you!

Preview USC

Preview is formatted much like our Meet USC program. It is a 3.5 hour program that begins with an admission session with an admission counselor and student intern. Then students will participate in a campus tour that is followed by a session with the academic department to which you’ve been admitted. Throughout the day, students will hear about housing, campus life, and the transition to USC. Preview USC is held on six different dates.

Explore USC

Explore USC is the most extensive campus visit program we offer. These are day-long sessions that provide you with a highly structured, in-depth look at USC. You will meet current s USC students, hear about their experiences, tour the campus and the surrounding neighborhood, receive detailed information about your course of study, learn about student life, meet professors, and dine in a residential dining hall. The admitted student may attend free of charge and guests are charged a $50 fee per person. We will host five Explore USC events this spring.

Admitted Students Program

This is a great option for students and families hoping to visit USC on a weekend. This is an all-day event that will be held on April 26th. Registration begins in the morning and sessions will last until about 4:00pm. Arrive in the morning to attend all of the sessions that pertain to your questions! This open house provides students with the opportunity to tour the campus and surrounding neighborhood, meet faculty and staff from the various departments, and receive answers to all of your USC questions. This is also the only program where you have an opportunity to tour the University’s residential facilities.

USC Off Campus Programs

For those of you who do not live close to campus, we host off-campus receptions across the country. During these events, you will hear from admission and financial aid staff and representatives from the various academic departments. These programs will be about two hours long and are sure to help you answer your questions about USC.
Students may sign up for these events on USConnect. For students who have been admitted to the Spring semester, we encourage you to attend one of our Spring Preview events, the Admitted Students Program on April 26th, or any of our off-campus events.
We hope each of you will select an event to attend and look forward to meeting you here at USC or on the road!

  5. sue leiter says:

My son has been admitted to USC for Spring. Should we attend the Explore USC for Spring Admits; or the ADmitted Student Day on 4/28; or both??
    Thank you

    • Brittany Baker-Brousseau says:

Hi, Sue–it’s completely up to you and what information/experience you and your son are looking for! The Spring Explore is a more intimate event with some really useful panels and discussions so students can figure out that spring transition. The Admitted Student day is much bigger, but that also means a wider variety of activities. If you want to talk through the choices in more detail, feel free to call your son’s USC admission counselor to discuss the options: https://admission.usc.edu/findyourcounselor.html

  6. Carl D Gutermann says:

    MAY 5, 2018

Will there be any admitted student receptions held in the Sacramento area between now and mid-summer. I know there will be a SCend-off but am more interested in the moment on admitted student receptions with representatives from admissions and the various schools.

    Thank you

    • Hillary Higgins says:

Hi Carl, We won’t be hosting any more admitted student programs. However if you have specific questions, I’m happy to point you in the right direction.
