Opening in 5,6,7,8…

Things are moving and shaking at USC. No, I’m not talking about me listening to Britney Spears. USC’s Glorya Kaufman School of Dance is gearing up for a spectacular launch. It’s the first new school to be opened at USC in 40 years! I had the pleasure of speaking with Anne Aubert-Santelli at the Kaufman School of Dance and she gave me the low down about what’s going on at the newest dance school on the block.

Important Financial Aid Information for Admitted Students

Completed Orientation? Check. Registered for your first semester of classes? Check. Paid the first semester’s student account bill? Ummm…
This month, students and families will receive their first bills from the university, so we’d like to share some tips and advice for managing your costs and making use of the resources the university has to offer.

Relax, It’s Summer!

beach biking6:00am alarm, shower, eat breakfast, pack lunch, race out the door to catch the Expo line. Arrive at USC. Reply to emails. Review applications. Give a presentation. Meet with Admission Committee. Read more files. Listen to voicemails. Reply to more emails. Catch the train home. Head on a run. Shower. Crash in my bed.

High school students have a similar hectic schedule during the academic year. But replace review applications with attend class. And you’re practicing a sport or prepping a debate instead of attending an Admission Committee meeting. I am aware that the school year is busy, which is why it is important to take some time to relax.

It’s A Small World After All

Have you ever wondered if the email you addressed to Rice but sent to USC traveled between the two schools?  Did your high school counselor really used to sit next to your admission counselor at your dream school?  Are they actually still friends?  How did the YouTube video you made for your high school open house make it to the admission counselor who is interviewing you?  Did the Director of Admission at UCLA really used to work at USC!?
