Hey, high school seniors! We all know that summer is around the corner. For Southern California residents, it’s already here (at least it was for a week). You are ready to stock up on suntan lotion and your attention span is getting shorter and shorter in class. I know it can get difficult but hang on a little longer. Don’t give in!
Michael Jordan said, “It’s not how hard you push along the way, it’s having something in you to finish.” I know, I wish he was talking about an In N Out burger too. Maybe with a side of animal fries.
All kidding aside, it is important to close out your senior year, stay consistent and finish strong. Keep doing what you’ve been doing the last 4 years and don’t let up. Although you had an impressive academic fall semester, remember that colleges will still want to see your final high school transcript.
Here are some things to keep in mind as the year is ending:
Refer to my previous blog on how these still matter and how they can help. It’s worth it to put in the extra effort!
We will be asking for your final grades. It’s important to keep your grades up in the final semester and it does affect your offer of admission. You’ve come too far and worked too hard to stop caring about your grades now.
There will be exams, proms, yearbook signings and other events to finish out your year. Find a way to balance your studies and your social events. Being in control of your schedule gives you the best opportunity to be fully present at all of them.
We sincerely want to congratulate all graduating seniors! Enjoy your time and the time you have with your friends. You’ll be going to college before you know it!
