Sam and Eric from the Office of Admission took the SAT test in December. Yes, that is correct. They willingly took the SAT. For fun! Hard to believe, I know. We speak often about the SAT and our Dean of Admission, Tim Brunold, suggested we take it to be able to relate to the students with whom we work. Sam and Eric accepted the challenge. I sat down with both of them to discuss how it went. This is what they had to say:

College is different from high school in that you’re entirely responsible for what you take away. Physically, of course, you hope to take away an expensive piece of paper, but by the time you walk away with your degree hopefully you’ll have confidence that you have something that sets you apart from the other 30-something percent of Americans who have a Bachelor’s degree.

It’s that time of the year again. January is not only the time when we make our final scholarship recommendations for the upcoming first-year class. It means February 1st is right around the corner, and that means the deadline for our transfer applicants is soon! The requirements this year are not any different from past years, with one major exception:

You’re a freshman right now (or about to be), and you are wondering what you can do to make your first year in college as awesome as possible while looking as fabulous as possible. You arrive on campus with expectations of what you want out of your college experience. Well, everyone’s time here at USC is different, and there simply is no single manner of “doing college right.” So, take all those preconceived notions of what you believe college life will be and throw them out of the window of the eighth floor of Pardee Tower. And just do you.
