The Class of 2017 Moves In!

         Bike racks are all occupied. Lines are a little bit longer again to get food. Books are being purchased. Tools are put away and summer construction has dwindled down (well, most of it). Automobiles filled with boxes of clothes and school supplies are being directed around campus to residential halls.

On the Road Again!

          As summer comes to a close (where did the time go?!), my colleagues and I are turning our attention to Fall travel season. Many of us will visit upwards of ninety high schools during the months of September, October, and November, in nearly 50 states and in over five different countries. We will also be attending receptions and holding interview weekends in major cities like Seattle, New York, Boston, San Francisco, etc.

Tips and Tricks for Tackling the Personal Statement

          Calling all seniors! The school year is right around the corner, and that means it’s time to start thinking about college applications. While grades and test scores are definitely an important part of the application, at USC, we conduct a holistic review of files, meaning that we take all components of the application into account when making an admission decision.

Common App Is Live!

         Guess what? The USC application is now available! As many of you know, USC uses the Common App exclusively and it went live yesterday. However, do not feel pressured to submit your application right away. Take time to craft an application that will best articulate your whole self. There is no admission advantage to submitting an application early; just be sure to meet the appropriate deadlines. Remember, you must apply by December 1st to be considered for USC Merit Scholarships.
