Raise your hand if you hate waiting…
April 1st, while right around the corner, probably feels like a million miles away for those waiting to hear from colleges. We get it…the waiting game is the worst! Here are some ideas of how you can pass the time while we wrap up the process on our end.
- Cross something off your high school bucket list
Is there something you’ve always wanted to do but just haven’t gotten around to actually doing in high school? Now’s your chance. Go to a basketball or volleyball game. Audition for the spring musical. Try that restaurant your friends have been talking about. Play in the battle of the bands. You’re a senior and leader on campus. If you make a fool of yourself, people will only think you’re more fun. So get out there and explore what’s going on at your school before you head off to college.
- Join a March Madness pool or create one with your friends
Nothing says procrastination like college sports. March Madness, especially, is one of the best ways to occupy your time. There are basketball games almost daily, and when you’re not watching, you can obsess over your bracket and those of your competitors. Get excited kids, this is one of my favorite sporting events of the year!
- Check our Harry Potter at Universal Studios if you’re in LA
If you’re native to Los Angeles, or happen to be in the neighborhood, go check out Hogworts and the magical Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios. I personally can’t wait to visit Ollivander’s to find my wand, drink a butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks, and hang with Harry, Hermione, and Ron at Hogwarts. And if I’m really lucky, I might encounter a Basilisk and discover my patronus against a dementor.
- Plan a St. Patricks day party
Nothing says fun quite like green jello and party hats. Go enjoy a shamrock shake and corned beef sandwich with mustard. Get in the spirit with a fun green outfit to avoid the pinches of your friends. We can all enjoy being Irish for the day! J
- Do some spring cleaning – out with the old in with the new
You’re about the head off to college and will likely be packing up most of your belongings to bring with you. There’s no time like the present to start going through your closet to clean things out. Make a few extra bucks by listing your nice stuff on Tradesy, and give the rest of Goodwill. Your parents will thank you when you move out for taking everything with you!
